Flooded House in Paradise Valley

Sometimes Mother Nature likes to remind us who’s boss. This house was one of those instances. The homeowner had a natural levee in place but it ended up failing during this storm. Water and mud traveled to just about every inch of this home. In the "Before Photo" you can see just how much mud and water got into the home. The water that was in the home/being extracted was easily considered Cat. 3 water. Why? Who knows how long the water traveled and what the water went through until it finally went into the home. It could have traveled through animal feces, different molds, animal corpses, and so on. Then once it gets in your home it is taking all of that and now spreading it on your floors, walls, cabinets and so on. Disgusting, right? That is why we extract the water/mud and remove drywall, carpets, or something that is easily absorbent to water. Drywall/installation are thrown away after they are removed and the carpets/furniture are usually cleaned but can also be thrown away depending on the situation. Make sure you always have someone you can trust on speed dial if/when flooding happens to you.
